Tulips - Nunofelting Shawl * Нунофелт шал с лалета

Why? 

I dream for a green spring! The Spring is full of flowers and colors!

How? 

The scarf is completely handmade in nunofelting technique, using fine merino wool and natural silk.
Only wet felting.

Nunofelt is a felting technique that combines wool and pre-existing fabric. In this case I layered superfine merino wool fibers on pure silk. After the long process of making this lavish shawl the final result is an unique and one of a kind piece! It could not be repeated exactly the same!

Silk and wool I dyed by myself using acid dyes.
Both long sides of ready shawl are edged and sewn by hand.

What? 

This is a very long nunofelt shawl with tulips for artistic ladies!
The total lenght is at about 94.5 - 102 inches (240-260 cm). And the wide is at about 15.7 inches (at about 40 cm).

Защо?

Мечтая за зелената Пролет!

Пролетта е пълна с цветове и цветя!

Как?

Шалът е изцяло ръчно изработен в нунофелтинг техниката, изполвайки мериносова вълна и естествена коприна. Само мокро плъстене!

Нунофелтингът е техника на плъстене, която комбинира вълна и готова тъкан - в този случай съм използвала супер фино мерино и естествена коприна. След дълъг и трудоемък процес на работа по този великолепен пищен шал, накрая се получава уникален резултат, който не може да бъде повторен абсолютно същия. 

Коприната и вълната са обагрени от мен самата.

Двете дълги страни на шала съм обшила ръчно.

Какво?

И така, това е един разкошен дълъг шал с лалета за артистични дами!

Дължината му е около 260 см, а ширината около 40 см.

On the picture above you can see the process of its creation step by step from laying the fancy yarn and merino wool on viscose scarf and trough felting.
In my work I do not use any machines - everything is the fruit of my hands!

На снимката горе виждате процеса на неговото създаване стъпка по стъпка от полагането на ефектната прежда и мериносовата вълна върху вискозния шал-основа, и през самия процес на плъстене.
В моята работа аз не използвам никакви машини - всичко е плод на ръцете ми!

The finished scarf is interesting and fresh. It has an airy structure.

Завършеният шал е интересен и свеж. Има въздушна структура.

The final size is 60 inches (153 cm) lenght without fringes, with fringes is 68 inches (173 cm); 21 inches (53 cm) wide. *** Крайният размер с ресните е 173 см на 53 см.

Cleaning:

If needed, wash gentle ONLY by hand in cold or lukewarm water up to 30 degrees by Celsius with mild detergent suitable for wool and silk. Or you can use a hair shampoo for this purpose.

Do not change the water temperature when you rinse out the soap. 

Finally, rinse in water, where you add about 2-3 table spoons of vinegar to 4-5 liters of water to neutralize the soap. Remove the smell of vinegar with another rinse.

After washing gently press out in hands without twisting or bending. 

Carefully absorb excess water with a cotton towel and after you did this, the wool will be almost dry. Let dry completely free on air. 

Please, do not dry in a dryer! 

You can iron very carefully at wool-silk temperature on the iron wheel!

Nunofelt scarf with tulips ♡ Шалът с лалетата

 

This is a scarf that I made by order of a lady in love with tulips. Fine silk and merino wool in fresh combination.

Това е шалът, който направих по поръчка на една дама, влюбена в лалетата. Фина коприна и мериносова вълна в свежо съчетание.

The total lenght of the scarf is 2.3-2.4 meters (90.55 to 94.5 inches). The width is 0.5 meters (15.75 inches).
All wool colors and silk are dyed and felted by me. On the left picture above you can see some parts of the working process.
In my work I do not use machines or such kinds of units. Everything is fruit of my hands!

Общата дължина на шала с листата и лалетата е около 2,30-2,40 м, а ширината е 0,4 м. 
Всички цветове вълна и коприната са обагренни и плъстени от мен. На снимката горе вляво може да видите част от процеса на изработка.
В работата си аз не използвам машини и подобни уреди. Всичко е плод на ръцете ми!
Няколко дневен труд!

AUTUMN SUNS - felt art carpet in Autumn Palette

And a thousand reflections of light in the wet leaves!

On the floor or on the wall this woolen rug will warm the atmosphere of your home with its warm colors and the light that emanates from it!

I created this felt art carpet in November 2013 preparing for an exhibition of applied arts named BEFORE CHRISTMAS curated by Darzalas gallery in the Art hall of Radio Varna from November 19 till December 3, 2013.

Size is approximately 1.25 x 1.25 meters = 49.2 x 49.2 inches, thickness at about 1 cm = 0,4 inches.
It is completely handmade!

You can look at the process of creation that began with an inspiration from nature - tree mushrooms that have a unique structure. Beautiful and different, in themselves, they are a real work of art on the largest Creator!

I painted this picture long ago with acrylic paints.

And I always wanted to recreate it in textiles.

The idea long matured and finally just asked to be born!

And the process of felting began starting with the wool base that is so large in the beginning.

The carpet is created only from ecological clean Bulgarian wool in wet felt technique.

I used different types of wool, most of them I dyed personally.
Some of the colors I've dyed with extract of natural leaves.
Others are in the wool's natural shades of white, grey and brown.

Many time carefully arranging the design, putting wool fiber after fiber, wetting, adding more, etc.

Many hours of laying wool "painting" by it!

After all started the hard part of the process - actual felting by rolling of heavy package and the final rubbing for alignment by processing of edges.

At the end followed washing of the heavy wet carpet from the soap, draining and drying it.

Exhibiting:
This art carpet can be used as wall hanging (wall panel) too.
You can hang it in the direction that you like the most.
Hang it by putting a long wooden stick (e.g. bamboo) or metal rod and then sew it with fishing line or strong thread to the back of the carpet, and then hang it on the wall too.

Cleaning methods: 
You can just clean the dust. There is no need of often washing or cleaning.
In case of need you can wash it. HAND WASHING IS RECOMMENDED!
For washing you can use the bathtub, large wash basin or baby tub for bathing.
Please, have in mind that hand wash is permissible by gentle washing agents suitable for wool. 
After washing, please rinse well and add some vinegar (in proportion at about 1 table spoon vinegar in 1 liter water) at last rinsing. Do that, you can rinse again with clear water to remove the smell of vinegar.
After washing allow water to drain well.

After that, please, press out the water carefully by hand.
Please, do not twist! Absorb excess water with a cotton towel. Let dry free on air.
Please, do not hang - dry on a flat surface avoiding direct sunlight!
Please, do not dry in a dryer!
